2026/27 Volunteer Program

To keep our club vibrant and fair for everyone, the Board is updating our volunteer framework and fee structure for the 2027 season. If each of us contributes just a little more—whether through our time or financial support—we will build a stronger, more resilient club ready for the future.  

🌟 Introducing the Work Assessment Fee & Refund Program

To better distribute the tasks that keep our club running smoothly, we are introducing a new earn-back incentive program:

  • The Policy: A $400 fee per boating membership will be included with October dues.

  • The Earn-Back: Complete 16 hours of pre-approved volunteer work during the season, and you will receive a full $400 refund or you can choose to apply it to your next year slip fees.

  • Your Choice: If you prefer to use your weekends strictly to relax, that is completely fine! Choosing to pay the fee instead of volunteering helps fund the capital projects—like essential wall repairs and dredging—that protect our harbour.

  • Hours worked must be pre-approved by the Directors. If you are looking for volunteer hours, reach out to the Director in your area of interest.

  • The annual program runs from November 1, 2026 to October 31, 2027.

Dredging  - all dredging activities require training, please go to the Dredging Page for more info.

  • Dredger Pilot  - 1- 50 + hours

  • Dredger Assistant - 1- 50 + hours

  • Support Boat Captain- 1- 50 + hours

  • Pontoon Boat Captain - 1- 50 + hours

  • Support Boat Support- 1- 50 + hours

  • Pontoon Boat Support - 1- 50 + hours

  • Hose removal and set up - 2-5 + hours

  • Marketing committee - approx. 15 hour commitment

  • Assisting at Open House - 4 hours

  • Creating and editing marketing materials - 2-10 hours

  • Assisting with social media - 2-10 hours

  • Club clothing sales - 2-10 hours

  • Tech committee - up to 20 hours

  • Assisting with various installations - 1- 5 hours

  • On-water committee - up to 15 hours

  • Organizing club cruises - 5 - 10 hours

  • Assisting with incoming boats for cruises - 1-3 hours

  • Organized education sessions for members - 2-10 hours

  • Assist with SailPast - 2-5 hours

  • Fishing tournament assistance - 2-5 hours

  • Assist with Poker Run - 5 hours

  • Shopping and procuring items for events - 1-5 hours

  • Cleaning and prep - 1-5 hours

  • Provide DJ or music services - 4-6 hours

  • Selling 50/50 tickets at events - 1 hour

  • Power washing docks - 1-10 hours

  • Small plumbing and electrical jobs - 1-10 hours

  • Organize and clean sheds and storage - 1-5 hours

  • Weeding flower beds - 1-10 hours

  • Beach clean up - 2-5 hours

  • Replacing dock boards - 5-10 hours
