Terms and Conditions

There is a one-time Initiation Fee (plus HST) and an Annual Dues Fee (plus HST), as determined annually by the Club’s Board of Directors, per family for joining Newport Yacht Club - Stoney Creek Inc. as a Social Member. Current Fees are: Initiation $100.00 plus HST Annual Dues $130.00 plus HST The Applicant for membership hereby applies to be a Social Member of the Club and agrees to pay the current fees to the Club upon the following terms. 1. INITIAL PAYMENT: A single payment, covering the Initiation Fee and the Annual Dues, to be made upon approval of the application by the Club’s Board of Directors (“Directors ). 2. MEMBER RESPONSIBILITIES: Newport Yacht Club-Stoney Creek is an incorporated not-for-profit organization governed by its By-Laws. All Members are subject to the Club By-laws, Code of Conduct and any rules and regulations outlined by the Board of Directors, all of which are published on the club website and available from the Director of Membership on request. 3. VOTING RIGHTS: Social Members have no voting rights. 4. OTHER MATTERS: This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between the parties with respect to the subject matter. This Agreement will be binding upon the parties hereto and their successors and assigns. Each party has been advised to obtain and has obtained independent advice with respect to this Agreement, and hereby confirms that they are entering into this transaction and executing these documents of their own free will and without any coercion or undue influence. This Agreement shall be interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario. The courts of competent jurisdiction in Ontario, Canada will have complete jurisdiction in the event of any litigation between the parties arising out of this Agreement, and all parties attorn to the exclusive jurisdiction of such courts. All parties agree to execute and provide such further and other assurances as may be required to give effect to the intentions of the parties as herein set out. I have read, understand and agree with the Terms and Conditions.

Payment Commitment

Member agrees to pay the annual dues as determined by the club annually. – current rates are published on this form and also on NYC-SC web-site: Initiation Fee: $100.00 / Annual Dues $130.00/ HST $29.90 = $259.90

Gate Access Cards

You will be provided with one (1) Gate Access Card. Additional cards are available at an additional cost. If your Access Card is lost you will be charged a $50 non refundable fee for a replacement card. You understand and agree?

Volunteering

The Club is a self help club. It has no permanent staff and runs purely on voluntary effort by the Members. If you have any talents, skills or knowledge that would be useful to the Club and which you would be willing to offer in support please let us know. Even if you have none, there are many tasks around the Club which simply need a little time and effort and where your contributions will help. Please outline below one or more areas you can assist with at the club:

Upon application approval and acceptance, you will receive your invoice which you may pay by Interac to secretary-treasurer@newport-ycsc.com, or you may pay by cheque payable to Newport Yacht Club - Stoney Creek. Please mail your cheque to the address below. Your membership will be activated upon receipt of your cheque. *
