Newport Yacht Club will welcome members of the public and boating enthusiasts alike to its annual Open House on Saturday, May 30, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the club’s marina clubhouse located at 711 North Service Road in Stoney Creek.
The family-friendly event will showcase the club’s facilities, community atmosphere, and waterfront amenities, while offering visitors an opportunity to learn more about membership and recreational boating opportunities in the region.
Guests attending the Open House can enjoy a variety of activities and exhibits, including partner and vendor booths featuring Cabela’s Boating Centre, The Footwear Outlet, Boat Rescue Canada, Anchor Yacht Sales, JAS Products, Grimsby Auxiliary Marine Rescue, and the Newport merchandise table. The event will also include clubhouse and marina tours, a BBQ lunch, and a nautical yard sale.
“We’re excited to open our doors to the community and invite people to discover everything Newport Yacht Club has to offer,” said Commodore Michael Rushton. “Whether you’re an experienced boater, new to boating, or simply looking for a welcoming social community by the water, Newport has something for everyone.”
Newport Yacht Club is a member-run, not-for-profit organization offering slips for vessels up to 60 feet, as well as facilities for non-motorized watercraft. In addition to its boating amenities, the club hosts more than15 social and member events throughout the summer season and recently introduced a new pool and renovated outdoor seating area for members and guests.
The club is also proud to participate in Clean Marine, Ontario’s environmental certification program for recreational marine facilities. Newport Yacht Club has achieved Diamond Elite status — the program’s highest environmental rating — in recognition of its commitment to sustainable and environmentally responsible boating practices.
